Tim –
This is a great phone at this price.
I was lost in a sea of overpriced mediocre phones, and Chinese brands I’ve never heard of. Not wanting to spend £200+ on something that I only really need for day to day tasks, such as calling family, shopping online, watching videos, taking endless pictures of my dog and playing a few low performance games, whilst also wanting it to feel worth buying was some task. Thankfully almost at the point of giving up I took a gamble on this phone, and I’m not disappointed.
Out of the box there’s a clear cover included, and the usual usb charging cable without a plug.
It is dual SIM, despite some reviews, one is an e-sim, meaning no physical card slot, but it was easy to install via a qr code in my case, and I have my secondary SIM in the slot – both working fine along with an SD card for additional storage.
I upgraded from my old faithful but tired samsung galaxy A12, and the difference is night and day. The Motorola really packs some great features, the camera, although only 2mp bigger than my old phones, is superb. Ultra clear photos, and easy to use, I love the editing features. Obviously 5g was really a needed upgrade for me too. Overall the phone feels great, I’ve had no lagging at all (admittedly I did uninstall all the bloatware – but I’ve still installed all my own apps so I don’t think this really factors into it)
Using the phone feels great, fast, smooth, navigating menus is flawless, everything loads in an instant, and the screen feels much kinder to my eyes, I’m not sure if it’s the higher resolution, or the gorilla glass screen, but it works, speaking of that screen, I’ve just noticed 2 days in the screen hasn’t gotten all smudged up like my previous phone which had no built in screen protection.
Setup was easy, it simply started automatically transferring everything from my old Samsung, I wasn’t expecting that and I can’t tell you how happy I am about that. The fear of setting up a new phone, and trying to remember stored passwords was the reason I was about 5 years overdue an upgrade!
My only negative point is I was expecting more from the battery, I have enabled the overcharge protection, so I’m only charging to 80%, this could be a factor, but this only lasts me the day, from what I read about it, I expected more, I was hoping for a 2 day charge.
Charging isn’t fast either, no fast charging here.
But I can live with this and it wouldn’t stop me buying another, especially as it feels like a phone that would cost 4x the price.

Do you need a backup phone which can help make calls, browse, or use whatsapp? This is the one for you. The camera is just the worse I’ve seen on a phone in ten years, can’t even make good quality video calls.
I only bought it to have whatsapp on an alternate number and it does this job well.

Fast, modern, sleek, beautiful, battery life, fast charge, great price – quality all round.

Cheap and cheerful mobile phone. Does everything you could wish for. Excellent value for money

So initially it seemed ok. After some use and an update from Motorola it just slowed right down. It’s so bad I can’t even post a video to Instagram without 3 or 4 attempts. Camera is absolutely garbage, image stabilisation is a joke, colours are pants, the lag is ridiculous. I’ve bought lots of Motorola’s over the years this will be my last.

I was looking for a 5G phone to replace my aging Samsung A40 4G and spotted this on Black Friday. I looked for reviews but there weren’t any here because it has only recently been launched. So I took a gamble and bought one which arrived on Black Saturday and I have just set it up. I am a silver surfer so am not glued to my phone all day but do use my phone for banking, shopping, social media and occasional streaming and in this respect the phone is brilliant! I have used the RAM boost to increase RAM to 12GB and may add an SDXC card to boost ROM if I need it. The phone doesn’t come with a charger, only the cable, but chances are you already have 3 chargers. Bottom line is – I don’t think you’ll get a better 5G phone for the money.
