Well worth the price. 95% of what a flagship will do. Imo of course

It is OK, a bit small, so sometimes difficult to select correct letters for texting. Despite this, I feel it is good value for money, very fast with good bright screen & good 256 GB Storage. The latter is the main reason I bought it. In addition it has 8GB memory. I previously had a Motorola phone which I liked, so was attracted to this one, especially at the price of les than £150.

Great value, good battery life with 8GB ram + virtual boost, 256GB storage. Clean stock Android, not bloated with random apps. Out of the box Android 14 with November 2024 security patch. 5 phone updates later, it is Android 15 with the March security patch. Camera quality is usable in daylight, good enough for a work phone. Comes with type A to type C usb cable in box, no charger. I was unable to achieve the claimed 68W charging with multiple different Type-C chargers capable of 65W charging. When plugged in it does claim Turbo Charging mode is activated, but only gets 27W.

Overoal happy with purchase and didn’t expect to perform as it does.

It is a nice phone, but not Dual SIM for physical SIMs. The second SIM has to be an eSIM.

This is disappointing because the network that both of my SIM cards are on does not support SIM cards.

I only worked all this out when I was unable to fit both SIMs in the SIM card tray.

The Moto G55 is a great phone at a reasonable price, clear display and smooth touch screen.

On star because it’s unbelievable that the phone tells you “You’re up-to-date!” when the last installed update is July 2024. Thanks to the previous reviewer, I also reflashed the phone with Software Fix package. If I had not seen this I would have returned the phone. BTW I wish the previous reviewer told how he disabled the bloatwares installation. I have had a few Moto G series, they didn’t come with TikTok, Booking, etc.

I got and set this up for a family member and I must say that I’m really impressed with the features and speed of the phone for general uses (e.g. phone calls, email, messages, browsing, accessing google docs and sheets. I can’t believe it cost <£140. Bargin. Whilst this is clearly a budget phone I think you are getting very good bang for your buck in terms of value.

I have an iPhone 16 myself and I was impressed how much it has improved since I last had an android phone (probably over eight years ago).

Nice hardware but you need to disable some of the moto apps otherwise it keeps downloading junkware including games, Faceboot, Tiktok (because we’re all teenagers) and of course Amazon. It too me a while to learn how to do this without breaking the phone. It was supplied with Android 14 and no updates since July 2024. Moto say it gets bi-monthly updates. The solution is to get the Motorola Software Fix package from Motorola’s website (an nowhere else) and re-flash the phone for which you need a Windows 10/11 PC. No Mac and it only partially runs over Linux with WINE. This will update the phone to Android 15. If you feel confident doing this I suggest that you do before setting up the phone and save yourself some time. I also installed Open Camera instead of the poor supplied effort of an “AI” app. It has lots of storage and ram for the money and is reasonably fast. Battery life OK but your mileage may vary.

Great budget phone, quite sufficient features for an oldie like me. Bought to replace my old Moto e6plus, as the screen was not always responsive, it was not holding a charge very long & it was no longer compatible with some of the apps e.g. ebay. What a revelation it was getting a more up to date phone! My Duolingo app has much better graphics & features, & I can get into my banking app with my fingerprint again. Watched a few YouTube videos to help with setup, still a bit to learn, especially re : taking photos. It seems just as good as some of the more expensive phones in my opinion.

Dual sim is by using E-sim + normal sim, not 2 physical sim chips.
The sim card holder holds 1 sim plus micro SD card for extra memory. Vodafone cn be done on-line in minutes.
Easy to convert a sim to e-sim but not with PAYG at the moment with most major providers.
Phone works well, later Android has more features so you need to spend a while tweaking settings and preferences but the transfer from old phone to new via BT took 99% of stuff across although it failed to move some video files I didn’t miss them. You can also do it using USB C to USB C cable. The only issue I found is that the ring tones included are rubbish so I had to find some decent ones on-line. Battery life is great as with all Motorola G series and it does 5G.
