Came in good quality. The screen and battery life are both very good, though sometimes it doesn’t respond as well on the curved edges. The camera quality is decent, but if you want a phone to take high quality photos with, this one probably isn’t for you. Most notably (as I saw no mention of this in the description or other reviews), the phone doesn’t have a headphone jack, so you either have to use wireless headphones with it or drop a little more money for an adaptor. Overall, a very good phone with good value for money.

I’m a real person that bought this phone. So far so good it was exactly as described. I bought the Moto g85 in grey. It has 12g of ram, 256gb of storage and comes with Android 14 out of the box (as of May 2024). Could the battery life be better- yes. I turned on battery protection so it only charges to 80% so that might be the reason why, it still lasts me a full day until I charge it when I go to bed so this is not an issue for me (I don’t play mobile games). The g85 does not appear to be better than previous gens in terms of battery life though. The opening of apps is fast, the screen is bright and of good quality (even on May 1st when I am writing this review when it was very sunny and 26C outside I could still read the screen easily). Google pay works well, Bluetooth and wifi at 5ghz is also very good. Delivery was quick by the seller and the phone was well packaged and clearly new as it had the Motorola holographic sticker sealing the box (it was also obviously a new phone from the packaging). Would I recommend the Moto g85 from this seller, not yet as I have only had it a week but after 6 months if it performs as it does now out of the box — absolutely. I will update my review in 6 months.

Nice phone, rubbish battery life. And you need an additional £20 charger to get the fast charging.
I’m on holiday, and I need to carry a power bank hen I go out, or risk this phone running out of battery before I get back. I’ve never had a new phone with such poor battery life.
I don’t think I’ll be buying another Motorola in the future.

Bought this to replace a Xiaomi 11T Pro which was almost three times the price new. OK, it’s more than a couple of years down the line from when I bought my last phone, but this is superior in every way.

    – Excellent battery life. It hasn’t actually died on me since I bought it.
    – Great camera for everyday use, including a decent selfie camera that automatically flips photos the right way around – a nice touch
    – Slick, quick, and easy to use
    – Lots of storage capacity and capable of running many apps at once
    – Lovely display, with nice curved edges giving it a more premium feel

The only drawback has been mentioned in another review – it is not a true dual-SIM phone as there’s only one SIM slot, so you have to rely on an eSIM for the second SIM, which is no good if your provider doesn’t support it (neither Smarty nor Lebara, the two networks I use, do).

All in all, this is a great phone and I don’t see the need to spend loads more. It’s great value and it seems durable enough that I won’t need a new device for some time now.

Up until now, 31st March 2025 I have been using a Motorola G62 5G which was getting slower and slower and slower. My wife had the same phone with the same problems so mine was not an isolated case. In the end I couldn’t stand it anymore and decided to buy this Moto G85 5g. I’m not going to talk about the pros and cons as you can read reviews anywhere. Save to say it has cured all problems that we had. When I take a picture now it appears directly in photos without delay. When I order something on Amazon, it doesn’t give me a keyboard and remove it constantly. The camera is good, nice to hold, a good size and takes an SD card. One word of advice though, this camera is advertised as a duel sim phone. It’s not in the pure sense. It takes a sim, an SD card and an eSim. One of my providers doesnt offer that service (Smarty), my other provider O2 does, but I had to make a special journey to an O2 shop to get it set up as it was impossible to do online. To be fair, they didn’t charge for this service. So, bear this in mind if you have two Sim sards in your existing phone.
All in all, the G85 is a great phone with three times as much RAM as the G62. I think this will do me for two to three years.
I am a skilled electrical mechanical engineer by profession and was an on screen expert for BBC Watchdog and Rogue Traders for some years and subsequently sworn to honesty. I tend to research a product drilling down into the quality and value of the item before I buy. I am not paid for my reviews and have no personal gain from them. I have no difficulty recommending this item. What’s not to like. Go buy!

An amazing phone that is far thinner than my previous phone (A Motorola G9 power) though being more up to date it features 5g, a very good camera (both main and front facing) and has both fingerprint and facial recognition for security.
The phone comes with a small protective case as standard though this only covers the back so wouldn’t protect the face if the phone fell face first.
The edges of the screen are rounded giving an ergonomic feel that is very nice with the screen being far easier to both see and use than my previous phone.
The sound from the speakers is amazing with very high fidelity of both music and voice.

I would strongly recommend this phone if you are wanting a new phone but do not want to spend a huge amount on the latest Samsung or Apple phones.

    This is my 3rd Motorola.
The first two lasted five years each. Both had fantastic battery life and charged very quickly.
This model is slimmer and lighter.
Perfect size for me . Screen is clear and functions are speedy.
    I recommend.

3.5 stars. It’s a great phone but all my GIFs that I transferred over are playing slower and in some pics the people are red skinned even after changing the colour lighting options. Great UI. Works well as far as I’ve seen. Battery is going a little quicker than my old phone. Charge speed is high average. Definitely an improvement from the ol’ T180 25 years ago

The phone is very comfortable to hold and lightweight.
The package includes only a charging cable—no charger is provided.
If you’re looking for a dual SIM phone, it has one physical SIM card slot and supports a second SIM as an eSIM. It also includes a memory card slot.
