A few days ago I bought a Dolce Gusto DeLonghi Nescafé Piccolo XS Coffee Machine Includes 3 Boxes of Pods. This is a complete disappointment. The coffee machine is simple, not very convenient to use. It does not read from the capsules how long it takes to prepare coffee. Previously, I used another coffee machine and the program itself read from the capsules how much time it takes to make coffee and the price was exactly the same. As a mother, I can say that I can’t stand and count seconds while looking into a cup, because I don’t have time for that. Moreover, other companies sell coffee machines for the same money where my hands are free and I get good coffee every time and I won’t make a mistake when counting the seconds on the clock. Pouring more water turns out not to be coffee, but a disgusting drink. But this was not the main disappointment. The coffee machine box contains 3 boxes of coffee so that the buyer can immediately see this product in action. What I got in my mug is not coffee. This is the most disgusting drink I have never tried in my life. The cheapest coffee 3 in one, wrapped in beautiful packaging. No smell, no taste, terrible emotions, that’s what I got by purchasing this product. I opened all 3 boxes of coffee capsules and 2 of them contained instant cheap powder. I expected a good result from a box called Americano since it contains ground coffee and not powder. But this morning I was even more disappointed. Instead of the aroma of coffee, I got the stench of a cheap product that did not resemble coffee. The smell of bitterness and low-quality product that you want to throw in the trash. It tasted even worse. I am very disappointed that when a manufacturer sells a coffee machine, it sells the worst coffee in one box, which makes you want to never buy anything from this company again. I’m very disappointed. Should I go looking for coffee capsules from other manufacturers? You created this product but do you like this coffee? If you have never drunk good, tasty coffee then perhaps yes. But I don’t even want to experiment anymore. Having opened 3 boxes of coffee capsules, I only received disappointment and stomach pain. I would gladly return this product and get my money back, as I have a feeling that the company deceived me. If a company sells a coffee machine without boxes of capsules, I would have no questions, but you sold a coffee machine along with capsules that ruined my entire experience. Perhaps your coffee machines are good, but then don’t sell a coffee machine with the worst coffee in one box, and let the buyer decide for himself which capsules to buy and not spoil the first impression

People writing negative reviews and bemoaning the lack of automation before buying this particular model have clearly not done their due diligence. Of course it does not read any bar codes this is because this is the Dolce Gusto system. If you want that you need to go Tassimo by Bosch. And it’s a manual machine so yes you have to stop it yourself.
So as to the machine itself, well it does exactly what it is supposed to do, ie make coffee. It’s compact and the auto start facility is clever and useful. We bought this one for our touring caravan after leaving our mini me version at home by accident. We also have a mini me in the kitchen at home.
On balance I prefer the mini me purely for the auto stop function. If I was to improve the XS version I would at least include a time limit to the run time As it stands it would just run until the water tank emptied (as far as I can tell). Hence I’ve docked a star.
But it’s fine for what we use ours for.
