It’s quite a big machine, but it works well and heats up fast.
I’ve gone direct to Nespresso for some Gran Lungo pods, 65p each which is much cheaper than Amazon at a pound each pod…
The used pod section pulls completely out to empty, one review says it doesn’t and you have to reach in and remove them… there’s always one isn’t there?
So far I’m pleased with the results!

Amazon Customer –
The Nespresso Vertuo has completely upgraded my coffee routine. It brews everything from a bold espresso to a smooth mug of coffee with rich crema on top, all at the touch of a button. The capsule system is fuss-free and surprisingly versatile, with a great range of flavours and strengths. It’s sleek, fast, and consistent—perfect for mornings when time is short but taste still matters.

Update on my previous review.. I talked to a friend and they advised cleaning the machine with a special cleaner, and it has started working again, and fingers crossed that it continues to work well, as it’s a great machine.

I bought my machine in September, it broke and you are given two options with Nespresso, to accept a pre-loved machine in a different colour, or to wait 3 weeks and have it repaired. If in the 3 weeks they can’t repair then they will send you a new one. So I decided to wait the 3 weeks. It arrived back today with a flashing red light, so not repaired. I called Nespresso again and went through all the troubleshooting (which is through your camera so they can see for themselves) and I was told that I had the same two options. At which point I told her that I had already waited 3 wks, and I had been told that if not fixed in 3 wks they would send new one, and she said that my machine is repairable and so not eligible for a replacement. I told her I didn’t want to wait another 3 wks as 6 wks is ridiculous! So my only other option is to get a pre-loved machine. Basically if the repair team don’t call you to admit that it’s not fixed in the 3wks then they send it back broken and so therefore you’re not eligible for replacement. Bear in mind my machine is only a few months old, why should I get a pre-loved? Not even in same colour! And not even offering me a better model for all this rubbish they put their customer through. I have so many vertuo pods left, which are really expensive, otherwise I would tell them to shove it.

The machine is great. Unfortunately the App is difficult to use and better to set up on a computer rather an android phone. Capsules more expensive than original capsules, however, far better cup of coffee. Be careful ordering vertuo capsule from Amazon, Although quicker delivery there is a no returns policy so buyers beware. The Spring offer made the purchases a no brainer.

This is the second one of these we’ve had. The first one lasted three years which seems to be about the life expectancy of them. The replacement was quite cheap – about half the price of the original – I doubt we would have gone for another if it hadn’t been heavily reduced. Hmm, what does that say about their popularity?
In use, the machine is quite straightforward to use and doesn’t need to be cleaned out for ten minutes afterwards as so many ‘labour saving’ devices do. (The associated milk heater/frother for example).
Operation is a bit noisy. You always get a crema, whether you want one or not.
Now, my biggest problem with this system is the actual coffees available to you. There seems a wide variety on Nespresso’s list and we have been trying many of them out over time, but have yet to find one which really tastes good. For the record, I also drink filter coffee and Italian style espresso a lot – without the crema! I prefer a rich coffee with caramel and umami flavours. Most of the Nespresso coffees we have tried have been disappointing; watery but bitter – even sour tasting – but all lacking in flavour and richness.
A lot of the time we use an espresso style coffee and have it as a latte which can do a good impersonation of the fluffy brown milk you get at the major high street coffee shops.
As I say, if it hadn’t been reduced we’d probably have continued our search for the perfect coffee machine. This is certainly not it.
