Habe damit meinen Dualit-Toaster wieder problemlos zum Laufen bekommen. Es handelt sich um das Original-Teil.

The original timer began sticking and for a while I just nudged it when I heard it stop. Fairly simple to fit if you look up a video on youtube. Took my Dualit apart first to make sure I ordered the correct replacement. For less than £20 it’s extended the life of my 15 year old toaster for a few more years and prevented me burning down my kitchen.

Fits the toaster as expected. Easy to replace as it is a like for like replacement. Only tools required are a Philips screwdriver and possibly a pair of long nose pliers. Remove power plug from socket. Remove the four screws that attach the feet. Remove the last two screws that will be securing the base. Remove the base plate. Pull the timer dial off the timer spindle. Remove the two screws that hold the timer in place. Gently push timer in to toaster housing making sure not to dislodge any cables. Gently pull the timer switch downwards. Remove the spade fittings one at a time, swapping them securely on to the new timer switch as you go. Doing them one at a time ensures you won’t make a mistake when you are swapping the wires. If in doubt, take a photo of the connections before you start. Once all four connections have been made, return the new timer to the correct location using the original two screws to hold it in place. Put the base back on and test! A very simple job. You may find the spade connectors a little tight – this is as designed. Use the long nose pliers to help remove and reattach. Note – if any of the wires or spade connectors look blackened or burnt, get a qualified sparky to replace. Do not use the toaster until any burnt internal parts are replaced.

Our old timer had got sticky and erratic, this one was simple to fit and works great. The toaster is now useable again.

Item the same as original. Packaging poor thus 4 stars as item could have been damaged in transit.

The timer is critical to the safety of the Dualit toaster. Once they start sticking it’s dangerous as the continued operation & heat can set fire to the toaster if you wander off and who doesn’t. The newer ones have a cut out which is how I discovered the timer was failing. It popped and cut power to all the elements which is a strong clue that it’s not a burned out element causing the cold toaster. I replaced the elements anyway as it was 4 yrs old but the timer itself takes a minute or two to replace and has made the toaster as new. In future I will replace it every 3 yrs .
