Let’s start with the good bits: This kettle was billed as having the ability to keep water warmer for longer … and, yes I think it probably does from my experience. It looks quite smart … it’s not the biggest of kettles but is ok from that point of view for normal domestic use. At the price it’s offered it’s reasonable value. On to the downsides: Even though it isn’t the biggest volume kettle in the world, It seems to take ages to come to the boil. The option of boiling the kettle for a quick cuppa during a tv commercial break has become a thing of the past. It seems to take ages and you miss half of the next part of what you’re watching on tv if you persist. Secondly, it doesn’t have a mesh limestone filter at the spout. That’s a problem for me as I live in a hard water area. Number 3: As the limescale builds up in the boiling chamber, the kettle does seem to get very noisy. It’s hard to have a conversation when it’s on and, if I leave the kitchen door open, it’s loud enough to impair the sound from the tv/radio. Once, when on the phone to my daughter whilst it was warming up, she asked me if I had a jet airplane taking off in my back garden. So it needs descaling very regularly to keep the noise down.. Finally, it’s a bit tricky to get it seated on the base at times. It doesn’t seem to glide into place quite as easily as most kettles. Overall, I wouldn’t call it bad but would I buy another? …. Probably not!

Strange smell inside and discoloration,spotting at the bottom upon arrival,the lid only opens at an angle,not fully and makes a loud snapping noise and very stiff to close…it looks smart though

I chose this kettle as my previous, rather expensive one leaked below the see through level indicator having had it less than a year. With the Qexreed Electric Kettle the MAX fill line is inside by the handle, I would have preferred it on the side as it would have been instantly visible when filling. It boils a little louder than my previous one, I do not mind as I can hear it while multitasking. I have no issue with the boiling speed. I love the keep warm feature, the large flip top lid and the overall appearance of this product, but most importantly the sides are insulated and not hot to touch. This is a good kettle for the price.

What I like about this kettle: there’s no plastic in contact with the water, it has a steel interior including the underside of the lid therefore making it more healthy. Double wall design might make it more efficient although I’m not yet sure if this will reflect on energy usage. It’s easy to place on the base and great value for money. It also seems happy at boiling only one cup of water making it all round eco friendly. It also looks quite smart in my opinion. I haven’t used the keep warm feature.
The only downsides is that it takes slightly longer to boil and there’s no water level gauge but this reduces the plastic in contact with the water so is a benefit in my eyes.

The kettle is not to bad, looks OK, pours nicely and the keep warm feature does what it says. Keep warm works well when cooking, I now boil at the start so I don’t need to keep reboiling throughout the process.
The only downside is how long the kettle takes to boil, which again is why the keep warm feature is important.
