I have never had a toaster before always using the grill on my oven, however the grill had become temperamental so I decided to buy a toaster …….. but which one? I knew I wanted a 2 slice toaster made by a quality brand, Amazon had so many to choose from so I looked for toaster reviews online. A Daily broadsheet paper had an article titled ‘15 Best Toasters of 2024’ and this Distinctions Toaster scored 8/10, so I then returned to Amazon to look at this toasters reviews there. All seemed good so I ordered the Titanium colour. What I like about it:- 1) Lovely clean cut design, although it is lightweight is feels nice and sturdy 2) The slots are long and wide, it can easily toast thick chunks of bread, crumpets and bagels. 3) Easy to use, there are 3 dials/buttons on the front. The left one is split into two, either for reheating or for defrosting. The middle one is a LED light countdown dial, so you can actually see the progress of the toasting. The knob on the right is a dial for how brown you want your toast, ranging from 1 to 6. 4) It has a nice long cable (45 inches /115 cm) and a wind on storage space for the cable under the toaster (when not in use). 5) There is a lift to view handle at the side of the toaster if you want to check progress, which I haven’t used as I’d rather watch the LED countdown light. 6) Now I have decided on the best ‘browning setting’ for me, the toast does quickly and evenly and most importantly it tastes lovely. My only slightly negative comment would be that the shiny stainless steel shows up my fingerprints, but if I remember after every use as well as emptying the crumb tray I should also wipe the toaster, no problem. Overall really pleased with my first toaster, I think I made the right choice.

It is a mystery why more reviewers don’t say that it is almost impossible to toast bread properly without burning the edges. We eat wholemeal bread, some granary and mixed grain – never pre-sliced. In order to get the main area toasted we found the edges burnt every time. It seems to be too fierce. OK, if you don’t mind a little charcoal with your marmalade!

Bought this toaster to replace an old Russel Hobs, big mistake. It looks very good but cannot toast to the same degree twice on the trot. It’s a lottery when used wither it will be burnt totally, at one end only or barely warmed up, at times you have to re-toast up to 3 times. A very big disappointment from a well respected manufacturer, such a shame.

The best toaster I’ve had and looks great. Very fast, toasts the whole peice of bread from corner to corner, the timer is actually useful which was surprising so you are ready to butter when it’s still hot. Brilliant price too – cheaper than anywhere else.

As good as my Dualit toaster. It looks stylish and makes great toast. The only drawback is that the outside gets extremely hot so watch your fingers.

Great looking toaster that does what it’s meant to do perfectly! Bought this toaster specifically because it said it catered for larger slices of bread. It’s exactly what I was after. My bread no longer has to be squidged into the toaster resulting in broken bread and uneven toasting, this toaster can easily accommodate a slightly larger slice and toasts it evenly and quickly to the level you choose. Good, easily accessible controls and a compact design that would fit well in any kitchen. A very reasonable price as well compared to others out there.
