I recently had the opportunity to try out this Russell Hobbs toaster and overall I am a fan. This is a sleek looking and useful addition to my kitchen.
The matte black finish looks stylish, and the extra-wide slots easily accommodate thicker bread and bagels. I like the 6 browning levels which gives me great control on how I want my toast every time—whether I prefer it lightly golden or well-toasted.
The lift & look function is handy for checking progress without interrupting the toasting cycle, and the high lift feature makes retrieving smaller items safer and easier. It’s good that it also has a removable tray when you want to dispose of crumbs on the bottom of the toaster after prolonged use. The frozen, cancel, and reheat functions add extra versatility, and the indicator light is a nice touch for clarity.
Overall this is a nice toaster. It’s sleek, compact and does exactly what I want it to but on reflection I feel at just under £50 it feels a bit of the pricey side but I’m happy with this and am happy to recommend it overall.

I love this toaster. It looks very modern and sleek in the kitchen, but is also practical by having heat-insulated sides which remain cool even after you’ve made a few rounds of toast. The ends don’t stay so cool, but are still not too hot to handle.
The slots seem fairly standard for a modern toaster: they’ll take thick toast, crumpets, etc. and have a mechanism to close up a bit to hold narrower stuff. The control dial has numbers and ‘clicks’, so you have a good idea where you’ve set it, and can remember your preferred setting for differnent items. In the middle of the control dial is an eject button – you can also raise the lever manually to check on the browning progress without triggering an eject, which is a nice touch. There is a button to allow extra time (e.g. for frozen bread), but I do miss a button from my old toaster which was for ‘re-heating’.
The price point seems reasonable to me for a well-known brand; the toaster is well-made and decent value. It is a welcome addition to my kitchen.

Having had a series of toasters that weren’t entirely fit for purpose because they simply weren’t designed for what people would consider ‘normal’ size slices of bread, I was delighted to find that this one will, in fact, take all but the very largest. And it toasts them remarkable evenly, too – which is another novelty.
It also toasts split muffins and crumpets nicely and can handle thinner slices too without incinerating them. It’s actually the first toaster I’ve owned that will toast bread properly at the first attempt – no need to give it ‘another couple of minutes’ … with the accompanying risk of overdoing it.
It’s very easy and intuitive to use and the matte black fits in quite inconspicuously with most colour schemes.
As toasters go, it isn’t cheap, but this is a case of ‘you get what you pay for’.
Happy to recommend.

Overall this is one of the best toaster I have come across. Afterall, it is Russell Hobbs and quality speaks for itself.
Arrived securely packed inside its branded carton box, it is not only well made but also looks stylish and modern. It has a nice matte black and chrome colour finish that looks quite attractive on my kitchen’s worktop. The toaster is also not too bulky and therefore doesn’t take too much space. The power cord is just about the right length although ideally should have been a bit longer. The toaster is very easy to use too with very simple operations.
In terms of its use, it is also quite practical. Firstly, the 2 slots are fairly generous in size and can easily fit even the thick bread slices inside. There are 6 browning levels available to choose from which is very convenient. There is a removeable crumbs tray at the bottom that I quite like. Price wise, I do believe this toaster is a bit on the higher side but given the quality, beautiful design and ease of use, I think it is still worth it and therefore offers value for money in my opinion.
All in all, very pleased and happy with this toaster and would rate it as 5 stars. Recommended!
Customer Review –
My old toaster needed replacing so I ordered this black, ridged, two-slice Russell Hobbs toaster (26760) which has 6 browning levels – no. 3 is perfect for me – and a reheat function, ideal for when the toast pops up when I’m doing something else such as carrying tea into the dining room.
It’s very lightweight which surprised me, especially for the price. The power cord could be a little bit longer, part of it is wrapped underneath so it sits flat and the cable passes through the gap.
What I really like is that it takes all but the very top 1cm of the standard-sized bread and toasts it, my last toaster couldn’t hold the top 5cm-ish but this is ideal and the slots are wide enough for thick bread and other bakery goods such as toasted teacakes or even toasties, for example. It’s also easy to take the toast out when it pops up.
It’s easy to operate and the instructions stress using it empty for the first use so I switched it to 6 and just let it cook with nothing in it, then added a normal slice of bread and a crust, set the dial to 3 and both were perfectly toasted. It’s on the pricey side, especially for the feel of it, but looks good and does exactly what I need for a two-slice toaster, 4*
