Having read all the reviews for so many of these bean to cup machines I wasn’t sure I’d get a decent one for this kind of price and given the mixed reviews on this one I wasn’t sure I’d sure I’d be sending it back. However, that’s not the case. I’m completely satisfied with it. The quality is amazing for the price. I have figured out how to make coffee to my taste by adjusting the grind to a higher number of cups than the number of cups I actually need then adding slightly more water than required as some stays in the coffee grinds. It’s no more noisy than any other grinding but the coffee making is very quiet. The coffee temperature is perfect for me as I like everything hot. All round, I highly recommend this machine. I think the price belies the quality of the product and it compares favourably to more expensive machines. I love my Nespresso pod coffees this is a far more cost effective option for decent coffee.

Good value. Easy to operate and makes good coffee from ground or from beans. Keeps coffee hot for 40 minutes and easy to empty filter and clean. Not for those who like the ultra sophisticated Barista style coffee makers but it is a compact and reliable machine and at a very reasonable price. Last one I had lasted 15 years

Does the job well no criticism of the product. Doesn’t suit me as I want my coffee kept hot for longer. Too much faff for me having to clean the coffee basket out and make just 2 cups at a time but appreciate might suit some.

What a fantastic coffee machine! I gifted the Russell Hobbs Chester Grind & Brew to my boyfriend, and he’s over the moon. Freshly ground coffee at the touch of a button – you can’t beat it! The quiet brew is a great feature, and the coffee is consistently delicious. The timer and keep-warm functions are super convenient. A brilliant buy!

    Not happy

This is the best filter machine we have ever used. The coffee is perfect and can be tweaked to exact strength required. The grinder is excellent. Highly recommended.

The Russell Hobbs Chester Grind and Brew Coffee Machine 22000 in Black has been my trusty companion for brewing that perfect cup of coffee. While it has its strengths, there are a few areas where it falls short. Let’s delve into the details and provide an honest assessment of this coffee machine.

Starting with blending power, I would give it a score of 3 out of 5. The machine doies not give a very good grinding facility on anything other thant the “12 cups” selection, so always set it to that to get a good grind, but once you do you get an OK level of blending power. However, if you prefer a stronger and bolder taste, you may find the blending power to be slightly lacking. While it does an adequate job, there is room for improvement in this area. Whilst there is a way to control how long the grinds stay in the water, between effectively two settings, call them what you will, Yes/No, On/Off, Short/Long, Weak/Strong etc; neither really gives you a heavily brewed cup.

To combat this you may find yourself using more beans to make it stronger, but in my experience this just leads to me bouncing around the room due to caffeine overload.

Moving on to the timer function, I wholeheartedly give it a perfect score of 5 out of 5. The timer function on this coffee machine is a standout feature, providing convenience and ensuring that your coffee is ready when you need it. With the ability to program the machine to start brewing at a specific time, you can wake up to the delightful aroma of freshly brewed coffee. This feature is especially handy for those who have a busy schedule and need their morning coffee fix to kickstart the day.

When it comes to ease of cleaning, I would give it a solid score of 4 out of 5. The coffee machine is relatively easy to clean, with removable parts that can be washed separately. However, there are a few intricate areas that require extra attention during the cleaning process, especially around the grinder blade.

The coffee machine has a warmer function where the carafe site so it will keep your coffee hot for about 35-40 minutes before shutting off. This is actually a legal requirement for coffee machines, so you would be hard pressed to find a machine that doesn’t do this.

There is also an anti-drip function so you can remove the carafe during the coffee making process. I would advise that you dont just pull the carafe straight out but move it off the warmer plate by an inch until you can hear it stop dripping then pull it out, otherwise your going to be spending time cleaning the warmer plate.

In terms of overall performance, the coffee machine offers a convenient and enjoyable brewing experience. Its sleek black design adds a touch of elegance to any kitchen countertop, and the 1.5-liter capacity ensures you can brew a substantial amount of coffee for yourself or a group of friends.

In conclusion, the Russell Hobbs Chester Grind and Brew Coffee Machine 22000 in Black is a decent choice for coffee enthusiasts who value convenience and a timer function. While it could benefit from improved blending power and even easier cleaning, its user-friendly features and ability to prepare coffee at a specific time make it a worthwhile addition to your kitchen. If you’re looking for a reliable coffee machine that offers convenience and customization, this model is definitely worth considering.

The machine arrived promptly and after some research online in YouTube, mastered using the machine. Little bit of guess work to get it started but all in all good. In my opinion it would help to use a decent brand of coffee beans, not just ‘own brands’ from Coles, Woolworths and Aldi. What is not clearly explained is the amount of beans to use. I started out 1 scoop (provided) per cup but this was very strong. I settled on 1 per 2 cups or one per mug. A kilo of beans will set you back (Vitoria) about $25. This will last more than a month or two depending on how many cups you drink a day. We are heavy coffee drinkers and were spending about $10 a day on coffee shop purchases as well as Moccona and others top-ups when back home. The coffee ‘bill’ annualised was in excess of $5,000. Now we will be around about $350. The machine at less than $300 makes perfect sense. Great machine, highly recommended and if you like freshly ground coffee, and a pot that stays piping hot all day, you can’t go wrong.

    I bought this 2 times.

First one’s carafe had been broken and I used something else to replace it as I couldn’t find the original carafe. After while the machine had been broken as I didn’t use orginal carafe.

Second one’s carafe is broken now, I asked to the company for original carafe. It has been 2 months they didn’t reach out me. And I’m looking a carafe that I can use with it.

It’s like a cycle that you need to follow when you buy this machine unless the brand starts to sell parts on Amazon.
