Lovely kettle, nice clean lines, no fuss. Holds the same amount of water as my old kettle, but takes up less space, also quite light weight. A bit noisy but not really a problem. Boils quickly. Pleased with this purchase so far. May get matching toaster.

Great value kettle . I had one of these many years back and it was replaced by more updated versions which have since failed due to faulty lid opening catches , so I am glad to have found this one once more . It looks as if it could hold more than the 1.7l capacity, but as it does boil very vigorously , it would probably overspill. I like the clean tidy interior without any nooks and crannies of the heat dissipation quiet boil ring , or plastic level markers which I feel attract limescale . Noise level no worse than my quiet boil model and boils very quickly . Tempted to purchase another for a future proof backup ! Yes it’s a basic no nonsense design model looks kind of mid century design, but incredibly functional and reliable. My previous one developed a leak at the window but it was very old . So glad I have found it again and have the extra year guarantee till 2028 – fab !

The kettle works ok – you can see the water level, it lights up when it’s on and switches off when the water boils. The really, really irritating feature is the lid. There’s a button in the middle and you have to press DOWN on it to get the lid to come UP. There’s a knack to this and, as expected, after a few months of fairly light use this feature doesn’t work. To open the lid you have to put the kettle down, press the button with one hand while lifting the edge of the lid with the other hand. A simple lift-off lid would have been a better idea.

Russell Hobbs Sleek and smart kettle – so clean in the inside and will be easy to clean- works well – not too much steam from it when boiling the water and easy to pour-GREAT BUY ON THE AMAZON SALE- highly recommend – I bought the matching Toaster-they both look nice together on the kitchen worktop- and it is really good Toaster. Very pleased with this purchase.
