Performed very well on an overgrown hedge with 5Ah battery fitted. Only criticism (as already reported by other reviewers) is the trigger switch which I found to be too light, making it very easy to inadvertently start the motor when picking the tool up and while holding it idle.
Won’t entirely replace my petrol trimmer for heavier cutting and thinning, but the low weight makes it very easy to use especially when perched up a step ladder, reaching across a high and wide hedge.
An ideal tool for normal cutting and late season tidy-up.

In the Ryobi One + range I now have the cordless strimmer, the “pole” hedge trimmer and now the standard hedge trimmer, the RY18HT55A-120 18V ONE+ Cordless 55cm Hedge Trimmer Kit (1 x 2.0Ah). I am pleased with the power of the new trimmer, light and easy to maneuver. Whilst the pole trimmer is not as “old man” friendl, as it quickly becomes heavy it is a great product. Yes, I’m pleased with all three gadgets, but the power and ability to cut with a cordless trimmer is great. Using the one+ system I now have 3 batteries and two chargers. All interchangeable. Perfect! Great value for money from Amazon. High Street store wanted same money for a corded trimmer/trimmers which are not as well constructed. No brainer!

at one go”!though conifer hedge, price was a little dear, get the later model,
performance is exc, I have other Ryobi tools and the 1st thing I tried was if the battery was compatible 18 volt, it was.
lasted 30 mins on conifers, power and didn’t fade, until the battery was empty,
45 mins/1 hr recharge, if you have 2/3 batterys on the go you should finish in a reasonable time

Feels well made,very quiet in operation.

Ryobi have got this hedge trimmer just right. It is light and easy to use with plenty of power to spare. The balance is ideal. He blade lenght is perfect for my 2mtr high hedge. The battery supplied is 2 ah and lasted about 35 min and I think I shall buy a larger battery when I find an offer. But all round I recommend this item.

arrived quickly, as a starter kit. charged battery up, & tried out on a well established hedge. Good, easy to use. only comment, others have said. It seems quite easy to trigger operation ! personally I thing the Holding handle activation trigger could be stiffer, so you have to grip it properly. before using the other handle/switch trigger.
Great, it lasted quite some time with a 2ah battery. has done 4 x garden hedges without charging.
