Does exactly what it says on the tin. All the airfryer hype had made us very sceptical, but spotted this one being used by a chef on Saturday Kitchen BBC1 & after some sleuthing worked out it was a Salter. We also bought a very useful additional frying basket (under £10) direct from Salter – who have some other good products & free delivery for a very modest spend!
The airfryer itself has already proved very versatile. That combined with the pleasant, compact styling means it’s earned a permanent spot on our kitchen worktop. The more we experiment, the more we find cooks well in it; pretty much anything non-wet. Also it’s so nice to be able to warm up pastry items quickly – rather than the slightly soggy results of a microwave. No need to use main oven unless cooking large volumes – in which case putting on a conventional oven is worthwhile. Only one drawback: we now need to find a different way to warm the plates…!

Brought for my Mother in Law – she already has this model & uses it daily. She wanted to order a replacement as she can operate it very easily & so wondered the same model. The only problem with the current one is the the tray paint/finish is starting to peel but she has had it for over 3 years & uses it daily.

This is our first air fryer, and it has been impressive so far. It took us months to decide on an air fryer, and this one not only looks great but was also purchased at a reasonable price. It’s the perfect size, although you do need to buy silicone inserts, as without them, it requires numerous washes to remove grease – it’s not very sink-friendly due to its size. Overall, this purchase has been excellent, reducing cooking time and potentially our electricity bill.

My air fryer is not 2years old yet and all of the non stick is coming off of the base and into our food. It states that it has a non stick surface and this is rubbish as it does not last. I contacted Salter about this problem and after answering many questions honestly their final answer was that they could not do anything as the 1 year warranty was out and I had not taken out the extra warranty for cover. This fryer is dangerous as no one wants to have non stick flaking off into their food. I also have a smaller and much cheaper fryer that I have had for over 5 years with no trouble whatsoever. Please do not waste your money on this rubbish!!!

I absolutely love this air fryer ! This is my second one and that was my fault ! Super easy to use and couldn’t be without it now !

I had to google how to take out the internal basket but in terms of function it does what it says

I got this for my mother in law who has arthritis in her wrist. She was struggling with the conventional oven trays and long cooking times. She’s technologically challenged and finds it hard to learn how to use electronics. We just explained it’s an oven, placed two large labels on the machine ‘time’ and ‘temperature’ and my goodness she hasn’t looked back! Not only are her cooking times halved, since we also got air fryer liners, she doesn’t need to even wash up any longer! What a win win. She’s also having fun experimenting with what foods to make.
Of course there are preset programs for chicken steak etc but she doesn’t use them.
I myself have the two drawer Ninja 400. For three times the price, of course the quality is better but can’t say it’s worth three times the price.
The only downside is that the washing up is a bit of a pain, so get liners but be mindful that liners will render your food a little less crispy as it blocks air circulation from below-I suppose just as it would be on an oven tray.
Brilliant fool proof piece of kit! Get it!

This was my initial dive into air-frying following the enthusiasm of friends.
This air-fryer is so very easy to operate that the instructions are hardly essential. I have no complaints about its ability to cook food as advertised and as one would expect. I got a shelf accessory to double up the usable surface area – it’s a deep basket for just one steak – and at 4.5l its been a good size for 3 people.
The one thing I would have liked to have been aware of before deciding on this model is that it can’t be used without the basket so different cooking methods aren’t possible without accessories. Not a fault at all but worth considering before you buy but as a basic air-fryer, this is up to the job for regular use.
After 6 months of use (maybe 2 or 3 times a week) and cleaning as recommended, both the pan and basket are showing signs of wear. As the pan barely needs more than wiping out it could be heat causing the finish to lift.
Now that I’ve had the air-fryer experience and I’m more aware of the capabilities of other models I’m ready to move on to something else but I don’t regret starting with this one.
