Like the top fill feature rather than having to lift the lid
Pretty and very functional kettle

I love my new kettle
The BEST feature is that you DON’T have to open the top of it to be able to fill it with cold water .
It has an unusual way to get the water inside and I have found it very easy to do it
It is a little noisy when you switch it on ( You can hear it on my video
BUT it will not have any effect on my recommendation of the kettle.
I LOVE IT

Spent a while deliberating between various glass kettles as this one had mixed reviews but I really liked the finish and decided for the price it was worth trying out.
Needn’t have worried, it’s exactly as hoped, the finish looks lovely when off and I don’t have the issue where some reviews said the light shows after it’s finished boiling – for me it’s blue whilst boiling then all lights off.
Pretty quiet and, pretty. If I was going to be really fussy the handle could be better but wouldn’t knock it down for that!
Next step = water filter as I don’t fancy the regular limescale job a glass kettle.

I’m trying hard to buy British products, even if they cost a bit more so I was pleased to find a Salter kettle that ticked my boxes.
Positives: It’s glass, so easy to see if limescale is building up. The iridescence is subtle and unusual enough to catch the eye. The lid doesn’t have to be removed to fill the kettle so the kettle never needs to leave its base and there’s no fiddling to remove and replace the lid, which is a bonus for elderly or disabled users. The kettle lights up whilst heating the water.
Negatives: The device in the lid that allows filling is plastic and I’m not sure how robust it’ll be in the long term. The kettle seems to take longer to boil than my previous kettle but this might be because the minimum fill is 0.5 litres, so no boiling water for one cup.
I like colour and things that are a bit different and I get to feel good for supporting a British company so I’d definitely buy this again.

I really wanted to love this kettle – it ticks all the boxes in terms of looks, materials (glass), lack of plastic taste in the boiled water (lots of glass kettles seem to be afflicted by this).
But sadly it stopped heating the water after only 5 months, so is now a pretty useless paperweight. LEDs still function, so obviously still receiving power, but the strix controller appears to have given up the ghost.
Not the first Salter kettle we’ve purchased recently that has stopped working within 6 months. Trying a different brand now. Hope yours lasts for longer!
Vicky Hagon –
Kettle looks great and initially was I really pleased with the purchase. However after about 3 months, the kettle would not switch on if it was still warm – not ideal if you ever need to reboil the kettle! Have returned for a refund and will replace with a different brand.

It started off really good; it looked great and of course, did its job. But then things went downhill quite quickly. Steam comes out of the on/off lever area and the base seams to leak too. It’s not only a little over a year old and it needs replacing because it looks awful. For a while the kettle didn’t switch off but then it started working ok again.
I expect a kettle to last much more than a year and I think a name like Salter should make sure their goods are of the level we expect from such a well known brand.
