It took a lot of thought to buy this tumble dryer because of price but so glad I did. First it works very well, it is cheap to run, does not fill the room that it is in with hot moist air and is able to be hooked into a drain – no emptying container. It is also much quieter than any dryer that I have owned before.

We loved Samsung products so it is with a heavy heart i write a negative review of one of their products and support and manual . This os a dryer pccasionally and a long painful process pf damp clothes the rest of the time. The only reason this product has not been returned is the immense effort it took to install it in the first place, cupboards had to be removed and refitted. Product support is responsive but provided in a manner to suit someone who doesnt need guidance or knows what to expect from a heat pump dryer. “Set it to this” how?????? The manual is the same. It can take several hours to dry one tea towel, no exaggeration, some items we gave up on, then a large blanket dried ok 2 hours 50 mins, similar sized bed sheet ended up on the radiator. If you want something dried quick as you need it that night you had better hope its made from a material this dryer likes or youll be entering wet tshirt competitions. Im stuck with it, i was never bothered about saving money on electric bills i just wanted the best dryer , Samsung failed me this time. Once bitten.

I chose the Samsung unit over others for one simple reason, the ability to divert the condensate to the drain vs the built-in tank. This simple yet genius feature makes a condenser type dryer a workable option.

Beyond the above the machine is simple to use and very efficient. Installation was simple as plug in and attach supplied drain hose to outlet. I installed the SmartThings App to see what it did. A handy app that lets you download addition cycles, start the dryer remotely (if you enable remote start) and monitor progress.

Performance is exceptional, with just the right level of dryness for putting away immediately or ironing if required. A genuinely quiet machine, I need to look at the app to see if it’s running. Another great feature is the in-drum light that comes on when you open the door. Yet another really simple idea that helps elevate this above others in it’s class. Final feature is the in drum shelf that can be inserted to dry items less tolerant of tumbling like woollens and trainers.

Talking of class, this is not a cheap appliance. I am hoping the cost savings from lower energy consumption and better AI sensors will actually materialise else this becomes another gimmick in the low energy drive. I really hope it’s not but only time will tell.

Quiet, clothes come out soft and easy to use, runs at a very low energy cost

The tumble dryer arrived from Amazon with significant damage and so we refused delivery. Then the fun begins in trying to get your money refunded. The refused delivery wasn’t processed correctly and very difficult to obtain a refund for the service order (unpack and recycle old appliance). Sorted after many ‘chats’, but a ball ache. Purchased the same dryer direct from Samsung for a little more money, but service and delivery from Samsung were excellent. In summary, great heat pump tumble dryer, but I recommend you purchase elsewhere.

After having to return two previous machines, (one being faulty upon receipt, grating metallic sound as drum rotated, second having major dents to front and side ) third machine was delivered today and now installed next to matching washer. Only trialled once, but so far so good. Much quieter than previous dryer, also Samsung, seems easy to use and well built. Pleased with my purchase and the price paid

Old Drier packed in so needed one quickly at Christmas time . We like Samsung items so after a lot of research we tried Amazon and they were the best price and quickest delivery. They only charged £15 for unpacking and removing the old unit and packaging. Most companies are much more. Likes – it has a light built in, is easy to use, large drum and it senses when items are dry. Water receptacle is high up which is easier on knees. If it saves as much money as they claim it will have been a good investment as it’s not cheap. Dislikes – the on switch and plus switch should have a backlight as they are touch switches and not easy to see.

I’m a bit late to the party as this is my first tumble dryer. Don’t have anything to compare it with, but I’m very impressed with how soft and dry my clothes are and how easy it is to empty the water tank and lint tray.
