After using the Shark for 6 months on a bi-weekly basis, in a 5 bedroom house with 50% carpets I thought it’s time to leave a review… Prior to the shark we’ve always used Dyson corded vacs but we chose the Shark because it is much easier to pick up and push around and works on batteries. The 2 batteries hold enough charge to clean the whole house including 2 staircases. Lately I noticed that the battery performance seemed to decline quickly, however this was my fault. (I used the vacuum for 6 months without without cleaning the brushes until they finally stopped turning!) I discovered that it’s easy to clean the brushes by clicking a button on the bottom and removing the front roller. The only detractor and the reason that I’m not leaving 5 stars, is the small dust collection chamber. It works ok but with so much carpet I have to empty it 4 times whenever I clean the house, but really it’s not a big deal. The machine makes up for that by being really adaptable for reaching awkward areas like under beds and chairs and sofas. It’s also light and easy to push around and carry up and down stairs. It also has some useful attachments, like the really small motorised brush head, which is great on stairs or on car mats. We haven’t tried the scent diffuser and never will, due to personal preference. Overall it was a good investment.

Pretty satisfied with the cleaner. The extra tools are very good. Easy to use if a little heavier than some others. It should come with spare filters as the main foam filters get dirty within 3 or 4 uses. Have never managed to get it to charge to higher than 90% but it lasts long enough to clean a 4 bedroom house.

I deliberated for ages about which from the many to buy.(probably like you are) – I decided on this and glad I did.. works well. Put together easily and I cleaned the downstairs (- nine large rooms- ) I felt satisfied – and actually quite embarrassed- that it had removed so much unrealised dust..! – even after I had used my Henry..! Some have said that they found it a bit heavy- I felt it’s ok..not overly so- the nozzles easily attached – (so that I didn’t feel that it was a nuisance to do so)- the roller did as promised and removed the large amount of hair ( we all have long , very fine hair and we shed a lot- it seems) – this was going to be a big test for it- and none of it wrapped around the roller. I was very pleased. I was able to release it all, without problem, into the bin. It is surprisingly small and easy to store. I took the main handheld bit off and placed it easily with the other stand part.i now don’t feel reluctant to get it out and hoover.. – all are main priorities to me. We sound, on reading this, that we are an incredibly dirty household- (we aren’t so bad- and I know we aren’t alone) but we have most definitely, after using this, now got much better. So I’d recommend it to a potential buyer.

Okay, I’ve had a shark before and it was good for getting pet hair removal but this is a WHOLE NEW LEVEL. I think I’ve finally found a vacuum that can keep up with two very sheddy Corgis! It will auto adjust suction for densely dirtier areas with a light up meter on the front for the first sensor! Easy to use and store! Really impressed with the quality so far!

Why did you choose this product over others?: I decided to invest in a decent cordless vacuum and after much research I decided on this Shark. I am endlessly impressed with how well this vacuum performs. I have cats and kids who trail hair and dirt freely. The shark is genuinely a pleasure to use and so simple to empty and store. It bends to reach under my bed effortlessly and folds back on itself the opposite way, halving in size for easy storage. It is such a well thought out product in all aspects. I have been using it for a couple of months now and have found no faults. I just discover new handy little features and I wonder how I managed before! I highly recommend this vacuum. It even allows you to choose a stronger suction power or detect whats needed itself. Its very powerful and efficient

I bought this to keep the area around my rat cages clean, because love to kick their bedding (hemp and wood shavings) everywhere, requiring vacuuming at least once a day, and my previous vacuum wasn’t keeping up with what it needed to suck.
No such trouble with this Shark though! It sucks up hemp chips and wood shavings like a champ! The auto-sense works perfectly and adjusts the power necessary in that area with no issues. It grabs up a lot of pet hair too, just as described.
I’ve attached a video of some excess debris in the middle of a cage-clean today to show how well it goes!
It also picks up and filters an insane amount of dust! Looking at my previous vacs, you wouldn’t know how much dust was lingering about in carpets, on upholstery, curtains, etc. This Shark gives my air purifier a run for its money as far as dander and dust-filtering goes. The little air pod it came with leaves the air post-vacuum with a nice, fresh sent as well.
The folding part of the tube makes for both easy storage, and a cinch for getting under anything that has a 90° angle, which is perfect for someone who has a back condition like me – no more bending and hunching and getting down on the floor! The main head also has a very versatile axis that makes it easy to manoeuvre and get into places that used to be fiddly or troublesome.
I have extremely long hair that passes my bum and I swear I shed more than my long-haired, double-coated Pomeranian cross, but I have had zero issues with tangling in the vacuum head, which has been a blessing compared to my previous vacs, which have needed hair build-up to be chopped off the roll every few weeks.
Quite literally, the only con I can think of is the tank size. However, that’s no problem to me as my house is small and I have multiple bins about, so I don’t mind emptying it as I go. The one-button empty mechanism is a blessing and I’m glad I no longer have to fiddle with the tank.
All in all: amazing vacuum! Does everything it claims and exceeded my expectations. This is my first Shark and given many Dyson quality problems in the past, I don’t think I’ll be going back.

Totally awesome vac cleaner. To be honest, being a battery operated device I didn’t thought it would perform that good. I got a small flat which has a thick carpet on 80% of it’s floor surface (something I really hate – I hate carpets in general cause they attract too much dust and they are a pain to clean, a British favorite apparently). The Stratos (not the Lancia legendary rally car), does perform! it cleans well and a full charge lasts to do the whole 1 bedroom flat. For larger houses you will definitely need more batteries.
What I really like about the Stratos is the intelligent modular design philosophy it has. You can use it as a hand held vacuum cleaner with the provided long nozzle, or attach the floor device that cleans beautifully any surface, including thick carpets. Very powerful although if you use it in full power the battery depletes very fast, the Clean Sense IQ feature helps save a lot of battery power while doing actually the job. Comes with a few basic attachments and more are available through Shark’s website, should you wish.
My only recommendation would be that the Stratos is not quite suitable for older people as it is quite heavy. Other than that go ahead and order one, you will be amazed.

My first cordless vacuum cleaner so I don’t have anything to compare it with but it has made life so much easier! It’s pretty quiet and very easy to carry around. I like the way you can use the top section separately for small jobs, and that it has extra fittings to enable you to get into even difficult tiny spaces. For example, the bottom edge of my oven door! Charging is easy. Getting used to all the buttons to take it apart or put it together or even stand it up for storage is a bit of a nuisance, but they are pretty logical and seem robust. When you first turn it on it is disconcertingly slow to start but when it starts it has good suction and is effective in removing hair, leaves from house plants, and general dirt from both wooden floors and carpets and rugs. I’m actually very impressed by how much dirt it picks up.
