To reduce the size of the packaging the leaf blower comes in a number of pieces and has to be assembled by the user. This is a one-off task and took only 15-20 minutes with a Phillips head screwdriver (not provided) being the only tool needed. Once assembled the unit is robust. A shoulder strap is provided but the assembled unit is not too heavy. I tried it out in both blower mode and suction mode. I was impressed by the power of the unit sucking up even the soggy damp leaves after all the recent wet weather. It is good that it has both the pick up and blowing functionality and is good value for money considering that I have seen similar leaf blowers that do not also pick up and mulch at a similar price.

Having never owned a leaf blower before I was not sure what to expect. All I needed was a break in this wet weather and try this leaf blower out where all the leaves had gathered in my garden. As this leaf blower is electric, it would require a dry day.
The Straame leaf blower, initially, I thought it looked and felt cheap, but when all the parts were secured together using the screws and blocks it transformed into a powerful and solid bit of equipment. OK, the wheels could be better quality, but the blower and vacuum/mulching both work brilliantly. The power of the blower was powerful enough to do the job easily, even wet leaves were no problem for it. I was very impressed. The air output is stated to be 10.7 cubic metres per second, whilst the blower velocity is 250Km/h.
The blower is very light, weighing just 3.6 Kg, hence I didn’t need the shoulder strap. The vacuum/mulcher is also very powerful and I soon filled the bag with soggy leaves. Just unzip the bag to empty it, simple.
The blower needs to assembled before use; I found this to be an easy task. The blower/vacuum pipes are just slotted into the body, including the extended pipes. Fix the locking screws and its done. The large 40 litre capacity bag and wheels again were easily secured into place. The blower comes with a fairly generous 10 metres of cable, which is great for small gardens, but an extension lead would be necessary for large gardens.
The instruction booklet is a little vague and needs to have the correct figure corresponding to the instructions given, ie. hold the machine as in fig 4, when fig 4 only displays the function switch.
I think the blower is good value for money.

Arriving in a box that looked lie it had been left out in the rain for a few months, first impressions were not good. And assembly is pretty straight forward with mostly self-tapping screws, the assembly instructions are terrible being little more than a couple of black and white photos and a tiny diagram.
Once assembled though things start to look up, it’s very plasticky but is light and feels sufficiently robust for regular garden use. Being cable powered is obviously a bit of a restriction, but the supplied lead is pretty long and proved sufficient for my small garden. Power is pretty good and although pretty loud it’s not unbearable.
Overall a decent low cast leaf blower/vacuum.

This item is an absolute nightmare to put together. Talk about square pegs in round holes. Sadly I wouldn’t recommend this item. No idea if it actually works as we’ve not actually managed to put it together yet. It’s taken an hour to actually get the tube out.

I’ve rated this item a 4 star reason being that I have not used it yet, the item does look good and is well made.
