Amazon Customer –
Background:
I’ve used Delsey rollers now for 12 years. My first was a used one and then a new one which lasted 7 years of flying anywhere from 50K to 100+ thousand miles a year. The Delsey was beginning to show the miles so I looked for a replacement. They don’t make a soft side roller any more so I looked into the more expensive Travelpro.
On the first trip I noticed how much easier it rolled along. When placed on surface with a slight angle it will start to roll in the downhill direction. No big deal but it indicates how little friction the wheels have. I don’t know if the telescoping handle is any more comfortable than the Delsey but it feels well built. Organization pockets are great but the top outside pocket is a little tight to keep your TSA sized liquid bag in. At least for me it is. Tight but it works. Main compartment is great and I’ve had to expand once now. Functioned flawlessly. The top grab handle (not the telescoping handle) is a little close to the surface of the bag so it scrapes my fingers to grab it. Once you grab it and lift the bag the handle exends a little from the retainers (designed this way) and provides ample room for my hand to hold the handle. I haven’t had to use the “wet” compartment yet but it looks like it would be great for swim trunks or whatever got wet. Zippers seem robust, the same with the exterior material. The telescoping rods feel a little better built than the Delsey but then I used that bag a lot and the rods developed a slight wobble. Not bad but getting worn. I’ve got to admit I mistreat the telescoping handle by lifting the bag onto escalator steps with the telescope vs walking on and allowing the pace of the escalator move the bag onto the step after me. I had to check the Travelpro for two segments last trip and it arrived with the lid slightly mashed in. No big deal especially since the bag wasn’t over stuffed so that may be expected but I don’t remember my Delsey ever getting mashed in. I don’t check much so this shouldn’t impact my travel life. Although slightly large (check outside dimensions) it fits narrow body (737, 737 NG, 757, A320 series) overhead bins easily. Some wide bodies have a goofy small bin over the center section and this fits sideways as most bags of this type will. After 10K miles with the Travelpro I’m happy with the purchase.

Travelpro es sinónimo de calidad en maletas de viaje a nivel mundial; siento que me quedó un poco chica para lo que la necesito pero aún asà la amé

This is the perfect business travel bag. It looks new despite over a years worth of monthly flights, rolls easily, has never failed to fit in the overhead bin, and has room for one laptop in the front pocket and an extra monitor or 2nd laptop in the pocket on the underside of the lid (I often travel with my small personal laptop and a work issued 15.6 inch beast – and while I often put the larger one inside the bag, it will fit easily in the front pocket). The interior compression system is excellent too. It’s expensive, but I have not regretted buying it.

Love it, light weight, sturdy, has the fold-out to bring suits and shirts on hangers, very happy with the purchase. I fly a lot and oftentimes on short connecting flights on small regional jets, it fits in the overhead, so no need to gate check, which is a great timesaver!

Travelpro is known for its high quality design and its earned.
I have used this for over a year and a few international trips and I am really rough on it.
It is cloth so with the roughness comes a little tearing on the bottom of my luggage, but its not a stain on the quality as I know I have scraped the bottom on concrete many times.
The wheels are still solid, the handle is in great shape, despite me sometimes making short lifts of the full bag (usually weighing 15-20 LB) by the extended handle.
This did come with a functional suit holder but I am not good at using that so I dont. It is roomy inside though I will admit that having the handles bars on the inside of the bag creates bumps inside that are awkwardly using space that you want to find stuff to squeeze between so as not to waste space. Not a big problem for me though as I dont like to overfill my bag.
It never has a problem fitting into aircraft storage so far. Perfectly sized to reach the limits of allowance for carry on on planes.
It also has good front pockets. One thats good for documents and other things you want to grab often and quickly and one large one that you may keep larger documents in.
It also has a side pocket that you are supposed to use a power bank in, but I dont really get the point of it lol
I also have a 20mah power bank and its too big for the pocket anyway. Maybe a nice concept, but I already have the front pocket that I can lay it in while using it.

Time will tell how well it copes with a possible 10 trips in the next couple of months after which I will update……
