I bought these VonHaus hedge trimmers for my elderly mother to use to cut the hedge with relative ease as 1: They’re cordless so there’s no cord to accidentally cut through & we’ve probably all done it regardless of age (?!) & reason 2: Is that they’re extremely lightweight, if I can remember correctly they’re just 3 & a half pounds which is slightly more than the most typical size of sugar that’s bought in for cereals & hot beverages, whatever (that was just an example of weight)
They are brilliant little trimmers on the front for where they’re needed as there’s just a 5 foot tall hedge that’s about 6 – 7 metres long & a half metre wide & the pictured Fuschia & it pretty much slid through the lot with ease, it snagged just a couple of times on a couple of thicker branches but it then slid through even thicker branches cutting at an angle.
They’re extremely comfortable to use again being so light to hold & having no cord & they perform very well & I’m personally rather impressed with this VonHaus brand as they’re affordable & their gardening tools (all that I own are gardening tools from this maker/brand) the tools will finish the job that the tool has been said to do!
There’s a real quick full charge time on these too of just an hour but that’s in exchange for 50 minutes of use so if you’ve got a massive garden & loads of hedges & bushes I’d seriously think if these are adequate for the job before making a purchase & if you can cut what’s necessary easily or just within 50 minutes then I’d highly recommend these as they work extremely well plus they’re well priced & they are an all around great product.
NOTE: The 50 minutes of battery life is say if you turn them on & cut & trim for 50 minutes straight without any breaks at all & keeping the blades continuously powered which is an extremely unlikely occurrence if you’re just cutting your front & back hedges & planted bushes you automatically lose the power checking for straightness in your cutting & when moving about from one area to another, it’s actually an extremely unlikely occurrence in most circumstances that they’d be used for 50 minutes with continuous constant power on.
