   We have some very large hedges surrounding our new house and this was purchased to allow us to trim the top and sides of these hedges.

   Like all VonHaus goods it is well made and very good value for money.

   It arrived more quickly than the seller predicted ( although they originally give a date 2 weeks out it arrived within a week)

   Having used it to cut a number of hedges now my comments would be:

   Pro’s:
   It seems to be well designed and well built as per all VonHaus goods
   It can be used without the extension pole to cut hedges at ground and body height like other normal hedge trimmers
   It can be used with the extension which adds around 6 feet into the length of the trimmer. This gives it a potential reach of around 10 feet or around 6 feet if the head is set at right angles to trim the top of a hedge.
   The head can be angled down by 90 degrees and also 90 degrees to the left or right
   It has a harness to ease lifting

   Cons:
   You need to move it back and forth to cut effectively ( Which it does) where as my old non extension black and decker cuts more easily on an arc
   It is heavy, even without the extension. This is partly because even without the extension it is longer than my old black and decker
   With the extension fitted it is heavy and hard to control. This is not a criticism of this trimmer – just extended trimmers in general. If you are a reasonably fit man you should be ok.
   The neck strap which helps supports the weight doesn’t really shorten enough to allow me to use it as comfortably as i would like and i often find myself taking the whole weight on my arms when the extension is fitted.

   Overall I would recommend this though

   Good quality product. Easy to assemble & everything fits well and clicks into place positively.Have not used this to trim hedges yet, but assembled it to make sure everything was working, which it was. I like the fact that it can be used as a normal hedge trimmer, a medium reach trimmer or a long reach trimmer. All the components are solid & well made. The trimmer motor is not too noisy, and the blades are sharp.The trimmer head can be adjusted to several angles from horizontal to 90 degrees, it can also be rotated sideways. The trimmer & parts can be easily dismantled for storage.The trimmer is relatively heavy when at full reach, but I would not expect anything else due to its build quality. This is definitely a positive thing as it should mean that it will last a long time and be able to withstand the rigours of trimming high hedges. The use of the adjustable handle & the shoulder strap should mean the weight is not a problem. I look forward to using this product and have every confidence that it will perform well.

   Excellent service and very good piece of kit. Estimate for delivery was about a week but received the package within 36 hours! Well parcelled and easy to assemble out of the packaging. As everyone says it is a bit heavy but you can’t have everything. I found it best to use it in short bursts, a little more time consuming but at the end of the day I was cutting where I otherwise cannot reach – ladders and steps no good due to uneven ground. Very easy to insert the telescopic pole and adjust the trimmer to any length you like, the parts just slot together so easily. Little bit of practice needed to use it efficiently. One tip is when you are moving around the garden with the trimmer, don’t move while it’s extended – it is heavy and long and if you drop the front to the ground while walking you could find yourself pole vaulting over the wall! Very to easy to dismantle and then carry it!

   A powerful and effective hedge trimmer with an extension pole to allow cutting of tall hedges. This trimmer can be used as a standard Hedge Trimmer, or a pole can be attached which allows the user to trim hedges 9ft tall. The sections fit together snugly and with confidence and they come apart almost as easily. The unit is then quite heavy and a little ‘top-heavy’, but there is a harness supplied which aims to reduce fatigue when using the trimmer for an extended period of time. Very pleased with the initial results, as the blade is long, the unit is powerful and it does a great job. Very happy.
