It is fair to say most dryers in the market are tailored specifically to women, this dryer from Wahl resets the notion with a sleek, ‘neutral’ black design and simplistic function to dry hair for anyone with head hair to comfortably use.
Wahl is a well-established, respectable grooming brand to which I get a sense of from this strongly constructed and stylish design. The hairdryer is slim as the size is small enough to pack away neatly or fit into a bag. The whole dryer comes in a shiny gloss finish in vivid black for a stealthy look. As you can tell, I’m a huge fan of this dryer’s sleek design. This dryer is not wireless, requiring to be plugged in but with no issue as the cord is roughly 2 metres long and ensures stable power during use. I appreciate that Wahl has chosen a rubber shield cord front to the hairdryer’s base. This makes it both flexible and protected from tearing from continuous movement. There are only two vertical switches to operate, a black for power between 0-2, and a red for heat between 1-2. Despite the simplistic function, the performance has impressed me.
The power difference between 1 and 2 is noticeable and unusually provides a good balance for drying. The first power setting blows enough for a breeze, whereas the second power setting gets air blowing medium hair length around. In terms of the heat setting, performance is equally balanced and pleasing. The first heat setting is hot enough to use more widely and for a longer duration; the second heat level dries wet spots far quicker with more heat, reminding users some distance should be kept.
In all, an excellent hairdryer option to purchase for anyone looking for a slimmer, sleeker profile to grooming. The build quality is solid and the function smooth for effective results. Wahl has respectfully placed trust in the reliance of their product by including a card claiming one-year manufacturer warranty cover.

This dryer is heavier than I thought, & when holding, the speed switches tend to flick up/down which is very frustrating. Value for money tho & will do.

Very disappointed with this idiotic design: you can’t hold the handle properly as the switches prevent you from doing so and as you dry your hair your fingers go involuntarily on the switches changing your settings.

This ‘Pro Slim Style Dryer by Wahl’ is a nice decent weighty piece being 2000W it packs a decent punch in the blowing department which is ideal as normal recommendation for consumer use is around 1800W. The cord is a generous length at 3M long, there’s nothing worse when trying to dry your hair and you can’t quite reach the mirror because the cord length is too short.
Along with the hairdryer comes two nozzles one being slightly smaller than the other, (the slimmer nozzle is great for direct heat and the wider one will give you more additional airflow). I tried out both and they worked well. There are 3 buttons in total the small one at the top will give you a cool shot for when you have finished coiffing your hair and to help set it. The black larger button is the speed switch of which you get two speed settings. The red button is the heat switch, this will give you two settings also.
Being an ex hairdresser now working in a different career altogether i am familiar with all different brands of hairdryers and hairdressing paraphernalia in general, for the price i will say this particular one i found to be good value for money, worked well, has a good weight to it, and decent wattage output. A good all rounder for sure.
