    This mower is great. It’s all chain driven from a series of rollers and no wheels, which means you get good stripes even on a single pass, without wheel tracks. Instructions are clear and help with the setup of the mower. As long as you follow the instructions it will work fine (as with many things in life).

    Some have moaned the front roller squashes the grass down and doesn’t cut it, yes it will do that if you don’t mow your grass frequently but properly maintained lawns will spring back up before the blade and be cut just fine. If you don’t have the time or see as cutting the lawn more as a chore then this probably isn’t for you.

    The collection bag works fine catching everything that pops up. Tho, as with a lot of front bagged cylinder mowers, it can be hard to see where to line up your next stripe.

    I can zip round my lawns without any issues even on my bumpy back lawn, tho on the highest setting. The resulting cut is fantastic and really makes a difference on how the lawn looks and grows afterwards.

    It’s also fantastic for the late night mowing when the kids are in bed and you don’t want to wake them.

    Only gripe I have is it could be heavier, in this case the lawn mower being heavier will help produce more defined stripes, but I’ll have to settle for doing multiple passes.

    In conclusion;
    If mowing is a chore, this is not for you. If your willing to put some time and effort in this will help you produce fantastic results.

    Had this mower 2 months now
    Great bit of kit for lawn enthusiast that isn’t ready to part ways with ££££ on a traditional powerd unit.
    Positives;
    Easy to assemble
    Easy to adjust height of cut
    Easy to adjust cylinder for precise cut
    Well built heavy enough to leave a good stripe, light enough for anyone to manoeuvre
    Easy to store
    Great price at the time of my purchase for impatient people like me that want it next day.
    You don’t need a bowling green level flat garden this machine it can cope with uneven ground to an extent.

    Negatives;

    Only downside to this machine is you may become abit obsessed with cutting the lawn as the ease of grabbing this out the shed and running over your grass is second to none and in no time will your lawn start looking alot more healthy with the reel leaveing a nice crisp clean cut to the blade thus helping premote new growth.

    Very disappointed!
    We purchased it because of the name Webb and it being British.
    it looked sturdy.
    Having followed the instructions and putting the mower together The handles are very loose and feel quite fragile, despite tightening the two bolts as best we can. It doesn’t feel as if it will last very long.

    We had a basic Bosch pull mower for many years and that felt really solid for £50. I would not advise you to buy this Webb mower.

    I was looking for a replacement for my old mower and was considering spending a few thousand on a new allet or cobra cylinder mower, and I’m so glad I bought this instead as I could buy nearly 20 of these for the price of an Allet!

    The only downside is the stripe width is tiny (30cm) but if you double stripe (like in the photo) it does an amazing job.

    Also it’s a bit of a faff to change cut height but now I’ve got it set at 20mm I’ll leave it there.

    Don’t get me wrong if you’ve got a thick overgrown lawn, this isn’t going to do a good job and I’ll probably use my old mower for the first cut each year, but for just keeping it trimmed this is perfect!

    I’m very fond of manual/push mowers to cut my lawn, especially with the electricity prices so high right now and they don’t look to be lowering any time soon!

    Other benefits are that it keeps you fit, but to be fair this Webb mower is very light in comparison to even your normal electric rotary mowers, and much lighter than gas mowers, so not too heavy to push around.

    These types of manual/push mowers produce less noise too, but they are not silent by any stretch of the imagination, personally, I find the whirring of the chain inside the mower to be quite therapeutic!

    The Webb is a good mower, and by today’s standards, I would say it’s the best of what’s currently available, but if we compare this to a vintage mower such as a Ransomes Ajax from the 1930-1970s, then the Webb falls short because they genuinely made them to last back in the day, and the Ransomes quality was so much better.

    The Webb has a plastic top, with many different plastic parts including the large rear roller..it’s a shame they’re not building these to last any more, especially with all the modern technology we have at our disposal these days, you’d think it would be much easier for them, (but I guess they are engineered to fail to keep us buying more).

    Where the Webb shines most though is that it’s super light, especially in comparison to vintage versions, so for anyone that has difficulty with strength etc, then the Webb is perfect.

    Now some people complain about these types of mowers not doing a very good job, HOWEVER, please understand that the Webb is what I would call a ‘finishing’ mower, and it’s very good at keeping short grass short, with a much better cut than you would get off of a rotary.

    If you’re expecting this mower to cut long grass then you will be disappointed.

    I use my Webb in the following way..

    For the first mow after winter, if my grass is long, I will use my electric mower once or twice to get the grass down nice and short and pick up any leaves etc, after that I will use the Webb to keep the grass nice and short all through spring, summer and autumn if the weather has been particularly bad, I may even get my rotary out again once or twice, and then it’s back to the Webb. This saves a lot of electricity and is great for my health.

    The Webb has a 12-inch, 5-bladed hardened steel cutting cylinder and an adjustable cut height of 13mm to 23.5mm

    I hope this review helps someone out there, and happy mowing!

    Habe den Mäher durch Zufall bei Amazon entdeckt. Leider ist der Mäher nur selten verfügbar. Daher hatte ich Glück zum richtigen Zeitpunkt bei Amazon gestöbert zu haben.
    Ich kann nicht viel Schlechtes berichten, da man für knapp 150 Euro (so viel habe ich 2022 bezahlt) ein soliden Spindelmäher mit Fangkorb bekommt.
    Hauptargument ist natürlich, dass er über eine Heckwalze läuft und dadurch hübsche Streifen macht. Bin zufrieden!
