I’ve had a cordless hand-held hedge trimmer for a few years now and it’s great for a quick tidy up or shaping smaller bushes. I didn’t actually realise until very recently that it is only rated 3.9 volts, compared to the 20 volts of this one, but does have a comparable 2amp hour battery.
This one certainly presents well, with its sturdy feel, high quality blades and canvas carry bag. The battery level display showing a percentage rather than illuminated bars is a nice touch too. Unlike on my other trimmer, the battery on this one is removable and is simply slotted into place, like with most battery power tools.
It’s very easy to put together and both blades just slot then click into place and you have the obligatory safety feature of a dual trigger mechanism which, I found, was slightly awkward to use. I think I must have short fingers or something! The unit, on paper, isn’t that heavy but in use feels quite weighty. I think much of that has to do with the design of it.
The head doesn’t rotate or swivel in the way that my older trimmer does and this somewhat limits the way you use it effectively. For example, when trimming low down. I like to have the head positioned horizontally with the handle set vertically but you can’t do that with this trimmer. The battery rests against the underside of your wrist when you use this, which does provide some stability but can get a wee bit annoying after a while. The overall balance feels out of kilter and can result in some fatigue.
Still, the motor is powerful and the blades cut and trim average-sized shrubs effectively. It’s a solidly built machine with equally solid performance. If it was a bit more ergonomically designed and flexible to use, it would be perfect.

I tried this 2-in-1 trimmer mainly for tidying up the overgrown lavender and cleaning the edge of a small patch of lawn that my full-size mower can’t reach. The blades swap out easily with a quick click—no tools or faffing around—which was handy when moving between grass and shrub trimming.
The battery display is a nice touch. I got roughly 40 minutes out of it before it needed charging again, which was enough for light work around my garden. It charged up quickly with a USB-C cable I already had in the car. The idea of using the battery as a power bank was unexpected, but I tested it on my phone, and it worked—probably won’t be using it often for that, but good to know it’s there.
It’s light, easy to grip, and doesn’t feel cheap. Just don’t expect it to tackle thick branches.

I bought these for my wife, but they were way too heavy for her in one-handed use,- also, neither of us could attach the blades, but because of the weight problem, we only struggled for about 10 mins., as we knew that we’d have to request a return, which Amazon kindly accepted. We didn’t get to try them, but they looked very impressive, well made and robust
and all in a very generous bag that would easily accommodate other gardening tools. I would remind buyers about the weight, 1.75 kg., if they are to be used by anyone with limited hand power, but I must admit they look VERY impressive.

This tool is supplied with two clip on blades, grass shears and hedge trimmer, a rechargeable battery and a charging cable. You need to provide your own USB charger. The tool is sturdily built using quality materials. The blades easily snap into place. Each blade has a plastic sheath that protects the blades in storage, as well as preventing injury while handling.
The rechargeable battery is quite weighty, which indicates quality materials used in its manufacture. This is the first battery for a garden tool I have come across which has a LCD to numerically display the % capacity instead of a few LCD lights Maybe a little OTT, but reflects the intention to make this a premium product. The USB charging port is under a rubber cap, and the battery charges quickly using a standard USB charger (which I provided).
I like the safety feature of the trigger lock. The trigger will only operate when a trigger lock is held down. Once the tool is powered, the lock button can be released. This may be a one handed action, but I suspect most people will use two hands.
The blades are sharp and effective, and the tool is not too noisy when cutting . My wife is able to trim the grass around our features in the lawn close up to the border. This brings me to the one negative aspect of this tool – it is a little heavy for a one handed operation. However, my wife was able to hold the tool while cutting the grass, and it is significantly lighter than our Toro electric hedge trimmer.
This is a great tool that is built to a high standard and works well. I like this tool a lot, and reckon it fully deserves its 5 star rating.
