    I’d been using one of those small spring loaded hand shears for edging etc, – slow work , so decided to get a cordless edger. Most on market are either about 3 or 7 v but the Katsu is 21v which I knew would make a big difference. Furthermore, I’d already purchased a Katsu 21v impact driver with 2 more compatible batteries so , although the edger only comes with one battery , I already had 2 more in reserve. Further batteries are about £10 on Amazon and supposedly compatible with Makita – although they are around £60. The impact driver came with a small phone charger style charger so i was pleased that this edger came with the larger, slot-in style with led charge indicator.
    The tool seems very well made and with thoughtful design. You can adjust the angle of cut easily – a feature many more expensive models don’t offer. I used it for the first time on my lawn edges and it performed really well . Very easy to swap to the hedging tool, I then tried it on hedges. Great for tidying up soft new hedging growth but , as the instructions point out, shears should be used on thicker branches and even my mains powered hedge trimmer has its limits!

    It’s value for money. It comes with a 21. V battery,which on a single charge was ample enough for all my small bushes. The only problem is the tool change, I found it hard to swap the grass cutting blades for the bush sheer blades.. I’m ecstatic with the tools light and does the job perfectly .,

    This is a great product it cuts really well is way cheaper than the equivalent makita tool so I am literally quids in I have a few batteries now having purchased a few makita battery tools and clone batteries – I was using a similar priced drapervset but that was only 7.2v this is way more powerful
